Drier pods, built for steeping
Extract grade is not a lesser bean, it is a drier one. Pods look leaner than Grade A, which matters for presentation and not at all once they are steeping.
A common home ratio is a few ounces of beans per liter of neutral spirit, left eight to ten weeks. Origin: Uganda.
How to use it
- Vanilla extract in neutral spirit, 8–10 weeks.
- Infusing rum, bourbon, cold brew or syrup.
- Brewing and craft beverage work.
- Anywhere the pod is discarded afterwards.
Storing it
Once opened, move to an airtight jar. Room temperature, out of the light. Not the refrigerator, which pulls moisture out of the pod.
